v 1.9.7.0
1/ Fixed PSK 'Filter-By-Grid Locator' Bug.
2/ Improved speed of Psk Plotting Routine.
3/ New Psk Plot-Method: Unique Country Pairs - Prefix/Flag
4/ Added Current Received Callsigns for ease of Psk Filter Creation.
5/ Corrected Position for VE8AT, 5Z4B NCDXF Beacons.
6/ Added a number of new NOAA Propagation and Solar Images (Shortcut: ID).
7/ Added InfoBar Page-Refresh Pause (Shortcut: PI) and Resume (Shortcut: PR).
8/ Re-write of Earthquake Plot, with variable Icon Size and Magnitude Labels.
9/ Added Satellite Frequency Data to the Satellite InfoBar Page: (Shortcut: IG).
10/ Added Total Daylight Values for Equinox Periods to InfoBar Solar Info (IE).
11/ Added Time Difference From User for Markers in InfoBar (Shortcut: IR).
1/ There was a bug that stopped you selecting a Grid Locator as a Filter-value for the Psk Reporter. This has now been fixed. Only 4-character Grid Locator values are valid.
2/ I have improved the way that PSK Reporter reports are plotted on the map. Although this won't be apparent to most users, it will speed things up generally and result in less database access.
3/ I have added two new PSK Reporter options, which are accessed by opening the 'Layers Menu', then clicking 'Ham Radio > PSK Reporter > Additional Layer Features'. These added options: 'Unique Country Pairs' are a new and exciting way to display PSK reports, and are very useful for all who are interested in current band conditions. Rather than show the usual mass of lines or points that fill the screen and make it quite difficult to see what is actually happening, these options will show a Line for any report between two countries, with the ends of the line marked by either a Prefix Label, or a Flag. Thus, you can quickly and clearly see which countries are currently contacting each other. The recommended way to use these options is to use a selected band as the Filter value, though you can, of course, introduce more Filter values if you wish.
4/ Still on the subject of PSK Reporter Filters, I have added two new controls to the Filter-creation panel of the PSK Reporter page of the Settings Menu. These controls, 'Current Receiving Callsigns' and 'Current Sending Callsigns', are drop-down controls that are pre-loaded with Receiving and Sending Callsigns received off the air. If you click one, it will copy across to the 'Receiving Callsign' or 'Sending Callsign' boxes, where you can then use them as part of a Filter.
5/ I was informed by one of my kind program-users that the VE8AT NCDXF Beacon had moved. This has now been corrected, along with the new position for the 5Z4B Beacon .
6/ If you open the Info Bar by typing 'ID', you will see a number of NOAA Propagation and Solar Images, received with thanks from the nice guys at the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Service. These have now been augmented with nine new images, all of which download automatically, and slowly scroll up the page of the 'ID' Info Bar. As before, you can enlarge any image, and see more detailed information about it, by typing 'P1' to 'P6' to open one of the images from the Bar in a new floating window, where 'P1' is the current top-most image.
7/ There are a number of Info Bar pages that have too much information to show at once, and so use a paging-system to split the information into manageable amounts, and advance to the next page every few seconds. If the scrolling is still too fast, you can pause it by typing the shortcut 'PI', and resume it by typing the shortcut 'PR'. If you forget these or any other shortcut values, just remember to type 'IA', where there is a list of all shortcuts. When paging has been paused, the shortcut on the title at the top of the InfoBar page is enclosed in brackets: '[IM] - Ham Log'. When paging resumes, the shortcut on the title at the top of the InfoBar page is no longer enclosed in brackets: 'IM - Ham Log'.
8/ The Earthquake Plot has been updated, with new code for the plot-routine, and a new Earthquake Style window to set it up. The Icons are now sized according to Earthquake magnitude, and you can choose to hide Earthquake Icons below a certain magnitude range, which is useful if you don't want to flood the map with all of the smallest of earthquakes.
You can also add labels that show the Earthquake magnitude. See the 'Natural > Earthquakes' page for details.
9/ The 'Satellite Data' page on the Info Bar (Shortcut: IG) already shows a large amount of information for the current satellite. We now include Uplink/Downlink/Beacon frequency information, plus Mode, Callsign, and Status, thanks to Mineo Wakita JE9PEL at https://www.ne.jp/asahi/hamradio/je9pel/.
10/ The Info Bar 'Solar Info' page (Shortcut: IE) shows a lot of different Solar Information for the User Position and Current Date, as well as a useful Solar Plot that illustrates the passage of the Sun during the year at the User Position. I have now added some new Total Daylight Values for the Current Date, and for all the Equinox Periods: Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice, Fall Equinox, Winter Solstice. Also, I have added the local times for the various time-values, to augment the UTC values.
11/ The Info Bar 'Marker Info' page (Shortcut: IR) lists a variety of useful information about the position and solar-status for each Map Marker. I have now added the 'Time Difference From User', which can be useful when organizing or estimating the best time to contact someone at that location.
