Right-Click Context Menu
The map has a Context Menu, which appears when you right-click the map. Not all of the commands appear all of the time: this is dependent on what and where you have right-clicked, and which projection is currently in use.
Show Time Info for this Position
This command will show a variety of time-information relating to the map's click-position: TimeZone, Local Time, Dawn, Sunrise, Postrise, Preset, Sunset, Dusk, Solar Midnight, Moon Rise, and Moon Set. These are defined as:
TimeZone - The name of the time-zone used at the click-position.
Local Time - The current local time at the click-position.
Dawn - A point in time when the sun is 6 degrees below the horizon, just before sunrise.
SunRise - The sunrise time at the horizon.
PostRise - A point in time when the sun is 3 degrees above the horizon, just after sunrise.
PreSet - A point in time when the sun is 3 degrees above the horizon, just before sunset.
SunSet - The sunset time at the horizon.
Dusk - A point in time when the sun is 6 degrees below the horizon, just after sunset.
Solar Midnight - This is the time that is opposite to solar noon: it's when the sun is pointing directly below Location A (also called the 'nadir'), and the night is equidistant from dusk and dawn. Solar midnight rarely coincides with midnight on a clock. Solar midnight is dependent on longitude and time of the year rather than on a time zone.
Moon Rise - The moon-rise time at the horizon.
Moon Set - The moon-set time at the horizon.
Set Widget Clock2/3 to this TimeZone
To change the Time Zone for Clock2 or Clock3, right click the Map at the position of the required Time Zone, and then choose 'Set Widget Clock2/3 to this Time Zone'. The chosen Time Zone will be remembered even when the program is closed and restarted.
Range Ring to this Position
Clicking this command will add a Range Ring set to the distance from the map-center to the clicked-location. This can be useful for comparing distances of a number of QSOs.
To turn the Range Ring off, or alter its value, go to the 'Range' tab-page.
Bearing Line to this Position
Clicking this command will plot a Bearing Line from the map-center to the point that you right-clicked. To turn a Bearing Line off again, go to the 'Beam' tab-page and uncheck the 'Plot Bearing Line' checkbox.
Set Route Position A/B to this Position
Clicking these commands will set the position of Point A, or Point B, to the clicked-location. You can then use these positions as the start and end points of a Route on the map.
To turn the Route on or off, or alter its values, go to the 'Route' tab-page.
