Range Tab-Page
The 'Range' Tab-Page provides a facility to draw single or multiple Range Rings on the Map. They will only display when the Projection has been set to 'Azimuthal Equidistant' or 'Orthographic' in the 'Setup' tab-page'.
The Range Ring distances are set to your currently selected Distance Units: Kilometers, Statue Miles, or Nautical Miles. Click 'Help > Program Options > Distance Units' to change them to your preferred value.
A single Range Ring can be shown with distances from 1,000 to 19,000 distance units.
Multiple Range Rings can be shown with spacings from 1,000 to 5,000 distance units, in steps of 500. The number of rings shown will depend on the current radius of the map, bearing in mind the current setting of the zoom-bar.
You can set different colors and fonts for the rings and the ring-distance text by clicking the appropriate colored box. Color-values apply to the currently-chosen background map, and are remembered.
You can also turn a single Range Ring on by right-clicking the map and choosing 'Range Ring to this Position' from the list of commands that are shown. This will add a Range Ring set to the distance from the map-center to the clicked-location.
