Logs
The County-Hunting Mapper has the ability to store two separate and independent amateur radio logs: 'Main' and 'Auxiliary'. The only difference between them is that you can transfer all, or selected lines, from the Auxiliary to the Main log, but not the other way around. Therefore, the Main log is better suited as the primary display log, and the Auxiliary log is more useful as an area where you might wish to prepare or select lines that you wish to transfer to the Main log. An example of that might be where you keep one log as a master list of all the counties that you have worked, then select new counties from the Auxiliary log to add to that master list. You can always export either of the logs in ADIF format, even if they were imported as Cabrillo, so you could keep a master ADIF file that stores all your counties, and import it for display whenever you want. You can also export either of the logs in CSV format,
Both logs are supplied with some sample entries, so you can experiment with other program features, but they are, of course, designed to hold your own logs, so you can visualize them in ways that were not previously possible.
Although there is no theoretical maximum log size, the program was not designed to store every QSO you have ever made. There is quite a lot of processing that takes place when a log is Imported, and when a Log Summary is viewed, so I recommend that the maximum log size is kept to 5000 entries, or you may find yourself doing a lot of waiting as your computer struggles to process your data. Not that that's a problem - just a bit annoying.
