Status Bar

The Status Bar, located at the bottom edge of the program window, shows a variety of useful information.

Moving your mouse over the map will show:

Latitude of the cursor, in degrees, tenths, and hundredths of a degree. Values south of the Equator are shown as negative numbers.

Longitude of the cursor, in degrees, tenths, and hundredths of a degree. Values west of the Greenwich Prime Meridian are shown as negative numbers.

Grid Locator of the cursor, with six-character precision.

The distance from your User position to the current cursor position in the Distance Units set in Options > Distance Units.

The short-path Great-Circle bearing from your User position to the current cursor position, allowing you to know which direction to point your antennas.

The long-path Great-Circle bearing from your User position to the current cursor position, for those who wish to try long-path communication.

If the map is not centered on the User Location, then the Status Bar will also show the distance and bearings from the Map Center to the current cursor position.

The Status Bar also shows a variety of messages about the program operation, and the current status of each tab-page. Some messages may be colored. These colors mean: yellow = in progress, green = positive result, blue/gray = neutral result, red = no result or error result.
