Widgets Tab-Page
Map Widgets are information boxes that can be dragged around the desktop, and configured in many different ways.
Map Widgets are turned on and off from the 'Widgets' tab-page.
There are eight different Map Widgets:
Callsign - shows the User's callsign and Home Position, as set in 'Config > Set Program Options'.
UTC Clock - shows the current UTC time and date.
Clock2 - shows the time and date for a selected timezone.
Clock3 - shows the time and date for a selected timezone.
Mouse Bearing - repeats the bearing and position information from the Status Bar when the mouse is over the map.
Country Bearing - shows the Beam > Bearing value. If the line originates from a Country or Callsign search, it will add country information. If you are viewing the program in 'Condensed Mode' with the main tab-control hidden, and the callsign and country boxes showing, you might find it useful to also display the 'Country Bearing Widget' which will show the short-path bearing for the country selected, or identified from the callsign.
Solar Data - shows the latest Solar Data from the www.hamqsl.com servers.
DX Cluster - shows the latest DX Cluster spots from the www.hamqth.com servers.
Map Widgets can be dragged to any position on the Desktop by left-clicking a Widget, holding the left-click mouse button, and dragging the Widget to a desired position. The new position will be remembered even when the program is closed and restarted.
Your Widget-layout will look better if you align all the visible Widgets to each other. There are two ways to do this:
1/ Vertical: Turn on as many Widgets as you like, and then move them into a rough vertical line. Right-click one of the Widgets, and choose the 'Align Other Widgets To My Left' option.
2/ Horizontal: Turn on as many Widgets as you like, and then move them into a rough horizontal line. Right-click one of the Widgets, and choose the 'Align Other Widgets To My Top' option.
In the case of a multi-monitor desktop, only those Widgets that are on the same monitor as the Widget that was right-clicked will be affected.
Your Widget-layout will also look better if you equalize the spacing between them. You can do this when you have more than two Widgets showing on your monitor. In the case of a multi-monitor desktop, you need more than two Widgets showing on the same monitor.
To horizontally equalize the spacing between three or more Widgets, click 'Widgets > Equi-Space Widgets Horizontally'. This will leave the left-most and right-most Widgets in their current position, and then equalize the horizontal spacing between the other Widget(s) in the remaining gap. If the gap is not sufficient to fit all the other visible Widgets, no action is taken.
To vertically equalize the spacing between three or more Widgets, click 'Widgets > Equi-Space Widgets Vertically'. This will leave the top-most and bottom-most Widgets in their current position, and then equalize the vertical spacing between the other Widget(s) in the remaining gap. If the gap is not sufficient to fit all the other visible Widgets, no action is taken.
To Configure any of the Widgets, right-click them and choose the 'Configure' option. You can change the font type and size, the foreground and background colors. For the clocks, you can also change the Time and Date formats.
To change the Time Zone for Clock2 or Clock3, right click the map at the position of the required Time Zone, and then choose 'Set Widget Clock2/3 to this TimeZone'. The chosen Time Zone will be remembered even when the program is closed and restarted.
The Solar Data Widget contents are refreshed automatically, every hour.
The DX Cluster Widget contents are refreshed automatically, every 15 seconds. You can choose to display cluster-spots from all HF bands, or a single band. You can also choose the number of spots that are shown, with values between 10 and 200.
To hide all of the visible Widgets, click 'Widgets > Hide All Widgets'.
To reset all Widget settings to their default values and positions, click 'Widgets > Reset All Widgets'.
