UDP Monitor
The UDP Monitor window is accessed by clicking 'Tools > UDP Monitor'. It is not a vital part of the County-Hunting Mapper, but rather an auxiliary tool that can be used to monitor UDP traffic, and is thus useful if you are trying to set up the UDP output from the N1MM Logger, or any other program that sends UDP data, such as the Contest Simulator. The 'Receive IP Address' and 'Receive Port' windows are initially set to the default values used in the N1MM Logger, though you can change them if required, whilst the window is not actively receiving. Note that the UDP Monitor will monopolize a port when it is running, and block another program from using it. The received data is shown in the main panel of the UDP Monitor window. You can attach a Date and Time Stamp to incoming data if required, by checking the relevant checkbox.
To view the UDP Monitor working, first click 'Tools > Contest Simulator' to open that window, and click the 'Start Contest Simulation' button. Then, click 'Tools > UDP Monitor', and click 'Start Receiving'. You can watch the QSOs being sent in the 'Contest Simulator' panel, and the actual data in the 'UDP Monitor' panel.
If the main program is operating in 'External Logger' mode, then the 'UDP Monitor' stops receiving data in its own right, and simply relays the data that the main program has received. The UDP Monitor's button now reads 'Receiving from Main Program', and clicking it has no effect. When the main program's 'External Logger' mode is paused or stopped, the 'UDP Monitor' can once again start receiving and displaying data in its own right.
