Introduction

Welcome to the 'County-Hunting Mapper' by Tim Makins, EI8IC - a unique Amateur Radio program for creating County, State, Section and Grid Locator outline maps of North America that can be filled by Hand, from a Contest Logger UDP Feed, or from Imported ADIF or Cabrillo Logs.

Maps can be defined in many unique ways: Continental, with different backgrounds, Isolated State or Section, State Counties merged into a State Map, and even counties grouped into useful Joint Regions, such as joint-state QSO Parties, Divisions, and even numbered Call Areas.

Once you have a base map, and have added the required text, colors, and lat/lon or Grid Locator Lines, you can fill regions to create maps that reflect your County Hunting activities, or operating achievements, or contest results: either by hand, or from imported log files, or as those events actually happen, by automatically plotting regions worked during a contest and building up a map that shows the exact state of the contest so far.

There are lots of other facilities: you can edit logs, check them for errors, parse them for counties, export data in different formats, overlay GPS files, export the maps for use in other applications, or to share online. For further reference, see the comprehensive Help Guide. Updates can be found at any time on the program's webpage (Link will open in your Browser).

OK - I am sure that you want to start using the program, but I would strongly recommend that you read the Quick Start page for a very useful introduction.
